Do you have trouble sleeping at night due to your constantly active mind?
Excessive thinking at night is one of the most common causes of insomnia. Our minds tend to be on high alert especially when we are worrying about something or when we remember something we think we “should” do. As a result, we have difficulty falling asleep.
Would you like to learn a type of meditation that can help calm your mind at night so you can fall asleep faster?
Then watch this short video:
In this special video, I shared a meditation practice for sleep called Floating Bubble Meditation.
What is Floating Bubble Meditation?
This is a form of meditation for sleep that allows you to envision your thoughts as bubbles floating in the river and allowing them to be peacefully drifted away by the current.
This type of meditation is used to calm the mind by training it to let go of any thought that pops up into your head so you can prepare for sleep.
How to do Floating Bubble Meditation?
If you’re already lying down on your bed, sit up and find a comfortable position. Have any type of notebook and pen ready.
Close your eyes and imagine that you are sitting by a river with flowing water. Imagine some bubbles on top of the leaves flowing in the water. As you look at those bubbles passing by, don’t try to catch them. Simply observe them and watch them drift away. While doing this, notice your whole body relaxing.
As soon as a thought pops into your head, open your diary/notebook and draw a bubble on a river. In that bubble, write down that thought. Do the same process every time a new thought comes up.
Again, imagine yourself sitting by the river and watching your thoughts flow by in the form of those bubbles. By doing this, you train your mind to let go of these thoughts. This practice helps calm the mind so you can fall asleep faster.
