Are you feeling overwhelmed with so many things that demand your time and attention? Does this overwhelming feeling cause stress and make daily activities less enjoyable?

When we are experiencing too many demands on our thinking over a long period of time, we can become cognitively exhausted and more prone to distractions. As a result, we become less effective, leaving us feeling even more overwhelmed.

Would you like to learn how to handle overwhelming feelings and restore the joy and passion in your life?

Then watch this short video:

In this short video special, I shared How To Overcome Overwhelm through a stress management technique called The CPR Method.

What is a CPR Method?

This CPR Method is one of the techniques for stress management that I discussed in my best-selling book called Stress To Joy. It is a 3-step formula for relieving stress and thinking through your options so you can respond positively to any stressful situation.

Here are the 3 steps that you should follow:

1. Calm down: As soon as you realize that you’re feeling overwhelmed, you want to calm down using any calming technique. You can either do breathing exercises, meditation, or any form of art, dance, or music therapy.

Once your brain has calmed down and got a little relief, you can now think clearly and go to the next step.

2. Process: We tend to feel overwhelmed when our mind keeps focusing on things that are not in our control. In this step, you need to think about the aspect of the situation that is outside your control and identify what you can do in response that is within your control.

Once you bring your mind to focus on the things that are within your control, then you can proceed to the third step.

3. Respond: After calming down and thinking through possible actions that are in your control, the last step is to respond with intention.

To respond with intention means you deliberately choose your actions. You become proactive rather than reactive. By adding the sense of “choice” to your response, you feel empowered rather than victimized.

In that way, whatever is overwhelming you loses the control on you and then you are back in the driving seat and you can do whatever you’re doing with full passion and empowerment.

Remember, it’s okay to take it slow so you don’t feel overwhelmed. Rest is necessary in order for you to keep showing up as your best self every day.

If you strive to become at least 1% better each day, you are on the path to success because small consistent actions lead to big results.
