This global pandemic has caused adverse effects on people’s health not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally, and socially. Are you one of those people who are seeking preventive measures in order to protect yourself and your family from the deadly COVID-19 virus? It all starts with learning how to thrive. Studies show that 90% of people who died of COVID-19 have some preexisting medical conditions. But how do people develop these chronic conditions? Every human being is exposed to some level of stress, and we all know that stress weakens the immune system and is one of the major causes of inflammation in our body. If we are not careful, our body can be exposed to elevated levels of inflammatory cells that could trigger chronic diseases. Would you like to learn some tools and strategies on how to strengthen your physical, mental, and emotional health so you can thrive and survive especially in this season of pandemic?
This plan was assembled by a group of physicians and scientists who feel strongly that this approach will have an impact in lowering the severity of this deadly disease. It also represents a template for the future of healthcare moving from an illness to a wellness model. It boils down to means of creating safety instead of being at the mercy of threats. Most chronic mental and physical diseases are preventable and some of them are even reversible. This booklet represents a major effort to change both the trajectory of the COVID–19 pandemic and also the manner in which we approach health care and chronic disease.
A recent guest on Happy and Healthy Mind with Dr. Rozina and my friend, Dr. Hanscom led this endeavor and compiled this booklet “Plan A” with 12 categories of interventions that will help lower your levels of inflammation. The approaches in this booklet are focused on each person taking full responsibility for his or her role in their health.
Dr. Hanscom is an orthopedic spine surgeon who quit his clinical practice after 32 years to educate providers and patients about the solutions to chronic pain and diseases. He is the author of the books “Do You Really Need Spine Surgery/” and “Back in Control: A Surgeon’s Roadmap Out of Chronic Pain”, 2nd edition. He also started his program called ‘The DOC Journey’ to help people break free from the grip of mental and physical pain.
Here’s an overview of the topics found in the Plan A booklet:
