(Video) How To Make Rational Decisions in the Face of Uncertainty

1280 720 Dr Rozina Lakhani

Do you feel anxious whenever you have to make a decision because you always tend to end up with the wrong choice?

In a world where we are constantly faced with new decisions, the pressure of making the right choice can be overwhelming. In fact, research suggests that people who feel anxious whenever they have to make a decision tend to have lower levels of self-esteem and self-confidence. Unfortunately, these feelings of anxiety often prevent us from being able to think clearly and find a solution.

Would you like to learn how to get past that overwhelming feeling and start making decisions that you’re confident about?

Then watch this video:

The Importance of Optimism in Decision Making

If find yourself making the seemingly ‘wrong’ decisions over and over again, then maybe it’s time to improve your positive thinking.

Positive thinking is the first step towards making a good decision, but it’s also an intrinsic part of the process. In fact, positive thinking means having a healthy attitude towards any decision you have to make.

Remember is that there are no right or wrong answers; some decisions will be more appropriate than others depending on the situation, but there’s no universal answer as to which one is ‘better’. It’s really all about trusting yourself to make decisions that you are happy and content about.

The Pros and Cons Approach

One essential step to confident decision-making is examining the positives and negatives of each choice by writing them down.

Writing things down gives you more mental space for thinking and making decisions. As a result, this approach also helps facilitate the decision-making process by adding a visual component.

The 10-10-10 Approach

The third step to confident decision making is to ask: “What would be the consequence or after effect of this decision in 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years?”

The 10-10-10 approach by Julie Welsch will help you examine the immediate, intermediate, and long-term impacts of each of your choices.

If you want to learn how to use this 3-step process on how to be more confident in your decision-making, watch the video.
